We offer design services, which allow for the maximum amount of flexibility to suite the customer.
We can assist the customer in small parts of a project or complete the whole range of disciplines needed to complete the project to the customers required end result. These may therefore include all or only some of the following services which we offer. We are a European approved design organisation, under Part 21 subpart J- approval reference EASA 21J. 125.
Our areas of expertise cover:
Evaluating concept ideas to discover whether the concept can be moved to realistic specifications to enable the design process to begin.
Producing realistic specifications to enable a datum point for both the customer and the design organisation to work towards.
Generating initial models or layouts, which allow an initial design review stage to the customer before man-hours escalate on something that is not what the customer wanted. We can complete this part of the design quickly by producing 2D layouts or basic low detail rendered 3D models. If the customer wishes to progress this A stage further we can also produce animated scenes so that the realisation of that article can truly be communicated and achieved.
Producing line drawings for the manufacturing process to begin. Most of the design work carried out by us is modeled in 3D, produced from continued detailing work from any initial models produced. These detailed assembly models are then broken down into their component parts from which the 2D manufacturing drawings are produced.
Stress analysis using either hand calculation methods for simple designs through to full finite element analysis (using NASTRAN and PATRAN) for the most complex of designs.
Compilation of paperwork -: This task can take several forms including modification paperwork to submit the modification to the relevant airworthiness authority, parts catalogues, assembly instructions drawing lists etc. The level of work required to complete this task depends on the application of the product being designed and its intended use within its industry. We will always endeavor to maintain the minimum legal requirement but can expand on this package at the customer's request.
Design reviews must be carried out on a regular basis to ensure that any design is kept within the guidelines put in place by the customer or any legislation relevant to that product. These meetings with the customer will also allow for design changes that maybe offered as options during any project.
The description given above is only a guideline to our normal procedures, each particular project has its own special requirements to ensure that the work is completed in the most timely and cost effective manner complying with all the relevant requirements.
